Kortrijk fair was a success with many new contacts.

The Stockholm furniture fair was last held in 2020, the Mono chair was then presented at first time. This year Hamari participated with the new Slim lecture desk with replaceable front panels and Slim auditorium chairs designed by Timo Ripatti.

Colorful PriMove beams and Mono chairs were also exhibited.

The magnificent acoustics of the main hall of the Lahti Sibelius Hall are world-famous, which was also carefully guarded when deciding on new seats. Hamari was already received praise for the sample chair, and the delivery, which was completed at the end of the summer, was a great success. The new seats are similar to the previous ones in terms of acoustic features and appearance, but ergonomically and technically updated. The project progressed smoothly and the installations were completed weeks ahead of schedule.

The Mono auditorium chair, a product of HAMARI auditorium furniture solutions Oy, has been awarded with an Honourable Mention in the respected Fennia Prize design competition. The chair was first introduced to the public at the Habitare Fair in the fall of 2019. Internationally, Mono was presented at the Stockholm Furniture Fair in February 2020.

Mono chair is designed by interior designer Philip Kronqvist. “The ambition was to create a chair that is plain and pure in its appearance while having optimal ergonomics and quality”, says Kronqvist. While closed, Mono is only 12 cm deep and forms a graphic, almost sculptural shape that is only revealed as a chair when opened. The mechanism, custom-created for the chair by Hamari, lifts the seat and armrests up with a single hand motion.

The Mono chair meets a wide range of demands and is also suitable for tight spaces that are traditionally difficult to find furniture for. The collection includes a freely rotating MonoSpin with it’s own pedestal, wall-mounted MonoWall and the Mono auditorium chair. Personalized versions available according the the customer's needs.

The Fennia Prize design competition is organized by Design Forum Finland, Fennia Group, Elo and the Finnish Patent and Registration Office. The competition awards companies and organisations that use design strategically in their business operations. “Over the years, the competition has become one of the most significant in Finland and the only one that specifically rewards the company for its extensive use of design”, says Petteri Kolinen, the CEO of Design Forum Finland.

Hamari successfully presented the Mono chair at the Stockholm Furniture Fair in February 2020. The feedback of the new auditorium chair was enthusiastic and encouraging.

Hamari has been awarded The Design from Finland mark and the Key flag symbol in recognition of a product made in Finland.

The DFF mark can be awarded for a product, product group or service that strongly represents Finnish design competence and tells that the company has invested in professional design. User-centered design which is substantial part of Hamari’s products, is also a main criteria for getting the award.

The Key Flag is a sign of Finnish work. The symbol can be awarded to a product that has been made in Finland.

The mark and symbol is awarded by the Association for Finnish Work.

Hamari team visited Salone del Mobile in Milan. On the way home received pleasant news about Cultural Centre Poleeni, new seats are delivered by Hamari!

Turku City Theatre was tested by Hamari team. The entertaining play was a new version of Aleksis Kivi's classic 7 Brothers. The team found the seats nice and comfortable.

Hamari toteutti uudet istuimet Turun Kaupunginteatteriin

Turun Kaupunginteatterin mittavan peruskorjauksen yhteydessä uusittiin täysin myös salin istuimet. Koska kyseessä oli historiallinen ja suojeltava kohde, oli yhteiskumppaneiden valinnassa oltava tavallistakin tarkempi. Skanska Talonrakennus Oy:n Aluehankintapäällikkö Kalle Saarela kertoi tuolien hankintaprosessista: ”Prosessi oli pitkä. Tarjouspyynnöt lähetettiin viime vuoden alkupuolella, ja tilaus saatiin tehtyä kesällä 2016. Koska kyseessä on arvokohde, se kiinnosti laajasti sekä suomalaisia että kansainvälisiä toimittajia.

Hamari oli vahvasti mukana alusta lähtien. Hamari hoiti hienosti mallikatselmukset ja toi esille omia kehitysideoitaan. Hamarilta löytyi myös joustavuutta, jota näin yksilöllisessä hankkeessa tarvittiin. Tämän tyyppisissä hankkeissa täytyy osata kuunnella tilaajaa erityisen herkällä korvalla.”

Erilaisen ja mielenkiintoisen projektista teki se, että istuinten haluttiin olevat mahdollisimman täydellinen toisinto teatterin alkuperäisistä, mutta tämän päivän ergonomiaan ja tekniikkaan päivitettynä. Tuloksena salin istuimet näyttävät entisiltä mutta ovat entistä mukavammat. Tuolin suunnittelusta vastannut LPR arkkitehtien sisustusarkkitehti SIO Philip Kronqvist kertoo:

”Tavoitteena oli luoda uusi malli mahdollisimman paljon alkuperäistä kunnioittaen. Tärkein ero on ergonomian parantuminen. Näissä tuoleissa istutaan pitkään, joten niissä pitää olla miellyttävä olla. Hyvin suunniteltu istuin on yleensä sellainen, jota ei oikeastaan edes noteeraa vaan voi keskittyä esitykseen.”

Istuimen suunnittelussa otettiin myös nykyiset tekniikkaan, toimivuuteen ja paloturvallisuuteen liittyvät seikat heti alusta pitäen huomioon. Tässä tarvittiin suunnittelijan ja toimittajan tiivistä yhteistyötä. ”Uuden katsomotuoliversion lähtökohtina olivat suunnittelijan tekemä uuden version 3D-malli, vanhat katsomotuolit ja niiden alkuperäiset piirustukset sekä varastosta löytynyt vanha istuin, jossa oli vielä alkuperäinen verhoilu tallessa. Niistä suunnittelija lähti ideoimaan kalustetta, joka säilyttää vanhan tunnelman, mutta on tuotantoteknisesti järkevä valmistaa sekä ennen kaikkea ergonomia kohdallaan. Myös verhoilun oikeaa värisävyä suunnittelijat etsivät pitkään, jotta ulkoasu vastaisi salin alkuperäistä ilmettä. Räätälöityjä ratkaisuja tarvittiin myös asennuksessa. Kehitimme esimerkiksi tavan, jolla permannon ensimmäisen ja parven viimeisen rivin istuimet ovat helposti siirrettävissä siten, ettei sitä juurikaan huomaa lattiasta”, Hamarin toimitusjohtaja Jari Jääskelä kuvailee ainutlaatuisen kohteen erityispiirteitä.

Lots of new orders has confirmed the beginning of summer. 

Deliveries to Joensuu, Tampere, Turku, Amsterdam, Lohja, Aalborg and Espoo, over 3000 seats by the end of July.

In February Hamari delivered the lecture room seats to Greenland Institute of Natural Resources.

Just before New Year, Hamari delivered 337 pcs Primo and PriMove seats to Lappia Pop & Jazz Conservatory in Tornio. The customer was very satisfied with the punctual delivery. Pre-installation at Hamari premises guaranteed a short installation time on site.

Kulttuurisalin nykyaikaistaminen onnistui yli odotusten

Vantaan Kulttuuritalo Martinuksen konserttisalin perusparannusprojekti ei ollut aivan niitä tavanomaisimpia. Tavoitteet oli asetettu korkealle monella eri mittarilla, ja julkisena kohteena budjetti ja laatuvaatimukset asettivat projektille lisähaasteita. Arkkitehtina toiminut Pekka Salmi P&R Arkkitehdit Oy:stä ja työpäällikkö Erik Etholen Oy Rakennuspartiosta kertovat, kuinka mielenkiintoinen projekti saatiin kunnialla maaliin. Kalustetoimittajaksi valikoituneella Hamarilla oli onnistumisessa tärkeä rooli.

Perusparannuksen kohteena oli kiinteistön konserttisali sekä siihen liittyvät säilytys- ja tekniset tilat. Projektiin kuului myös salin ilmanvaihdon, valaistuksen ja akustiikan parantaminen. Tilan toiminnallisuutta parannettiin tehostamalla tavaroiden siirtoa kellarista lavanostimella ja käytön monipuolisuutta istuinten siirrettävyydellä. Käyttöastetta nostettiin lisäämällä istuinpaikkoja.

Hamari valittiin kalustetoimittajaksi tarjouskilpailun jälkeen. Etholenin mukaan toiminta sujui loistavasti. ”Näin mittavissa projekteissa aikatauluttaminen on ehdottoman tärkeää. Urakoitsijana sitoudumme tilaajalle luvattuun aikatauluun, ja tämä koskee myös alihankintakumppaneittemme toimintaa. Hamari toimi aktiivisesti ja luotettavasti alusta loppuun sekä laadun että aikataulun suhteen. Asennukset sujuivat todella mallikkaasti. Asialla oli selvästi ammattilaiset, ja kaikki meni kerralla oikein.”

Arkkitehtina toiminut Pekka Salmi on samoilla linjoilla. Arkkitehdin näkökulmasta laatu ja palvelu ovat yhteistyön avainasioita. ”Istuinten uusiminen oli perusparannuksen näkyvimpiä osia. Istuimiin kohdistui paljon erityistoiveita esimerkiksi kestävyyden, siirreltävyyden ja mitoituksen osalta. Jopa kankaan painon piti olla tietynlainen akustiikan vuoksi. Saimme Hamarilta hyviä ehdotuksia heti alusta lähtien”, Salmi kertoo. Ilmanvaihtotekniikka aiheutti vielä yhden erikoisen pulman ratkaistavaksi. Salissa on käytössä syrjäyttävä ilmanvaihto, jossa ilmavirta kulkee istuinten alta tasaisella nopeudella. Koska riveille tuli aikaisempaa useampia tuoleja, venttiilit eivät enää osuneet kunkin istuimen kohdalle, kuten aiemmin. ”Hamari kehitti siihenkin toimivan ratkaisun”, Salmi jatkaa.

Kaikkiaan 438 tuolin kokonaisuudessa jokainen tuoli on siirreltävissä yksittäin, etuosa 2-3 tuolin ryhmissä. Tämä siksi, että lavanosturin kohdalla olevalle tasanteelle saadaan tarvittaessa lisätilaa orkesterille ja AV-tekniikkaa voidaan käyttää halutuissa paikoissa salissa esimerkiksi konserttien televisioinneissa.

Salmi jatkaa: ”Tällaisessa projektissa, jossa tarvittaan poikkeuksellisia kalusteratkaisuja, suunnitteluavun osuus korostuu. Hamarilta saamiamme ratkaisuehdotuksia tarvittiin ehdottomasti. Koska he ovat alansa asiantuntijoita, emme olisi varmaan itse osanneet yhtä hyviä ratkaisuja edes ajatella. Yhteistyö oli miellyttävää, ja joustavuutta riitti. Kun minulle tulee seuraava auditorio vastaan, vilpittömästi tiedän, kenelle soittaa.”

The history of auditorium seats started in P.O. Korhonen Oy on 1996 and continued in Martela Oyj. December 2014 Hamari auditorium furniture solutions Oy was founded and it bought all rights for the whole auditorium collection.

Marketing student Tomas Kukla is working as a trainee in Hamari in November.

Another trainee, Kaspian from the local junior high school, will be familiarized with 3D modeling and working life in Hamari for two weeks.

In autumn Hamari has been busy with Primo auditorium deliveries, three to Lund Tekniska Högskolan and one to Kunskapsskolan Varberg in Sweden.

Hamari and Vida A/S signed a contract for delivery telescopic and fixed seats to Kulturhus Trommen. New seats to Hørsholm will deliver on November.

Hamari had a small summer cruise at river Porvoo on the ms Fredrika.

50 persons participate Hamari´s history first party 27th November. Tasty food from Zum Beisbiel, Lotta and Groovy Peppers didn´t let anyone cold even it was blowing hard wind outside.

A less than one-year-old company with a history of ten years

Hamari, a company ran by Jari Jääskelä, isn’t even a year-old but some of its customers have years of experience with Jääskelä and his company’s products. Recently Jääskelä got a call from an old customer from a decade ago.

On wednesday 16th of September a phone rang in Hamari’s new office located in the heart of Porvoo. “Hi, Esko here, do you still remember me?” It took a moment before Jääskelä remembered the case from the times at Martela. On request of his boss Jääskelä once had to retrieve a sample seat which had been earlier delivered to a theater located in Tampere. On the spot they discussed why the seat was inconvenient and new updated version of a 1930’s theater seat which fit better the atmosphere of an old building was delivered. After a public sitting test the new seat was approved and the deal was established. And now after ten years the story continues…

Hamari auditorium furniture solutions Oy started its business on 1st of January 2015 when the auditorium business of Martela Oyj was transferred to Hamari. It has since continued the auditorium business in Finland and internationally both directly and through its partners. Collection includes six basic seat models, seven different table solutions and countless numbers of unique customization options based on the buyer’s wishes. Selling auditoriums is a sustained business in which a project may take even three to four years from designing to delivery. In was important to Hamari, when bought the business, also get the whole offer register and the references gathered throughout the years.

Hamari has five employees in Finland and one in Denmark. Designing, selling and purchasing are taken care of in Porvoo. The company found its premises in Porvoo on Runeberginkatu from a building from early 1900’s. Warehouse and a small carpenter’s workshop are located in Turku on Kuninkaanväylä.

Hamari’s first year has started greatly. Deliveries have been going to Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Belgium and of course to Finland. The portion of exports in sales is over 70%. The opening ceremony of the premises on Runeberginkatu had to be moved to autumn due to hurries in deliveries. Open house is held on Friday the 2nd of October at 2pm-6pm.

In addition to old references Hamari has also been able to create loads of new business on their first year of activity. The most significant of them are deliveries to Sweden and Belgium. Altogether 1424 seats were delivered to nine differently sized auditoriums in Artesis Plantjin University College. A new table with slide mechanism was created to the project. Similar table was also used in the project of Örebro University in Sweden where over 500 FORM- auditorium seats designed by Jukka Setälä were delivered.

To Finland Hamari has delivered smaller halls earlier this year but in December the story told in the beginning gets a new page, when Martinus hall in Vantaa gets 437 seats which are variations from the same Drama seat once used in Tampere.

Alle vuoden vanhalla yrityksellä on kymmenen vuoden historia

Jari Jääskelän luotsaama auditorioratkaisuja tarjoava Hamari  ei ole vielä täyttänyt vuottakaan, mutta osalla sen asiakkaista on Jääskelästä ja yrityksen tuotteista vuosien kokemus. Viimeksi Jääskelä sai soiton tamperelaiselta teatteriasiakkaaltaan vuosikymmenen takaa.

Hamarin uudessa toimistossa Porvoon keskustassa soi puhelin keskiviikkona 16.syyskuuta. ”Esko tässä terve, muistatko minua?” Kesti hetken, ennen kuin Jääskelä muisti tapauksen Martelan ajoilta. Tampereella sijaitsevaan teatteriin oli toimitettu mallituoli, jonka Jääskelän oli määrä hakea esimiehensä pyynnöstä pois. Paikan päällä selvitettiin, mikä tuolissa ei miellyttänyt, ja tilalle toimitettiin uusi, 1930-luvun teatterituolista päivitetty versio, joka sopi paremmin vanhan rakennuksen henkeen.  Julkisen istumatestin jälkeen tuoli hyväksyttiin ja kaupat lyötiin lukkoon.  Ja nyt yli kymmenen vuoden jälkeen tarina sai jatkoa...

Hamari auditorium furniture solutions Oy aloitti toimintansa 1.1.2015 auditorioliiketoiminnan siirtyessä sille Martela Oyj:ltä. Hamari on jatkanut auditorioliiketoimintaa Suomessa ja kansainvälisesti sekä suoraan että yhteistyökumppaneittensa kautta. Mallisto käsittää kuusi perustuolimallia,  seitsemän erilaista pöytäratkaisua sekä lukemattoman määrän asiakaskohtaisia räätälöintejä. Auditoriomyynti on  pitkäjänteistä toimintaa,  jossa projekti saattaa kestää  alkusuunnittelusta toimitukseen jopa 3-4 vuotta. Siitä syystä Hamarille oli tärkeää, että liiketoimintakaupan myötä siirtyi koko tarjoushistoria ja vuosien saatossa saadut referenssit.

Hamarin palveluksessa työskentelee yhteensä viisi henkilöä Suomessa ja yksi Tanskassa. Suunnittelu, myynti ja ostotoiminnat hoidetaan Porvoosta käsin. Yritys löysi toimitilat Porvoosta Runeberginkadulta 1900-luvun alun vanhasta pankkisalista.  Lähetysvarasto ja pieni puusepänverstas sijaitsevat Turussa Kuninkaanväylällä.

Hamarin ensimmäinen vuosi on lähtenyt käyntiin vauhdilla. Toimituksia on mennyt Ruotsiin, Norjaan, Tanskaan, Belgiaan ja tietysti Suomeen. Viennin osuus liikevaihdosta on yli 70 %. Toimituskiireiden vuoksi Runeberginkadun toimitilojen avajaiset jouduttiin siirtämään syksyyn. Avoimet ovet pidetään perjantaina 2. lokakuuta klo 14-18.

Vanhojen referenssien lisäksi  Hamarin on  onnistunut luoda runsaasti uutta liiketoimintaa jo ensimmäisenä toimintavuotenaan.  Tärkeimpiä niistä ovat merkittävät toimitukset Ruotsiin ja Belgiaan. Artesis Plantjin University Collegen yhdeksään erikokoiseen saliin toimitettiin yhteensä 1424 PRIMO-istuinta. Projektiin kehitetty uusi liukumekanismipöytä sai jatkoa Ruotsin Örebro University projektissa, minne toimitettiin yli 500 Jukka Setälän suunnittelemaa FORM-auditoriotuolia. 

Suomeen Hamari on toimittanut pienempiä saleja alkuvuodesta, mutta joulukuussa saa alussa kuvattu tarina uuden välilehden; aikoinaan Tampereelle menneestä teatterituolista kehitelty Drama- tuoli saa uuden variaation Martinus salissa Vantaalla, minne toimitetaan 437 paikkainen sali.

Ville-Pekka Into joined Hamari team 1.8.2015. Ville-Pekka will make projects and new product developing with Kristian Koivisto. Ville-Pekka comes from Martela Oyj Product development where he has been Technical Designer.

Hamari renovated seats for Lappia house located in Rovaniemi Finland. Building by Alvar Aalto will open in autumn after renovation.

Hamari´s new logistics are situated now in Kuninkaanväylä 32 B3 Turku Finland. 300 square meter warehouse and 100 square meter office in brand new building.

Hamari new office moves on...first week testing new tables.

Hamari auditorium furniture solutions Oy bought and took over the rights for the whole auditorium collection from Martela Oyj 1th of January 2015 and will be handling all auditorium projects from now on. Auditorium solution related activities for customer projects will remain unchanged and the collaboration with Martela remains tight.

Hamari offers high quality seating solutions for auditoriums and delivers the best possible solution for each architect and customer need.

Hamari will deliver in April 1424 Primo seats to Artesis Plantijn University College,  Antwerpen Belgium.

Hamari got order for 524 FORM seats to Örebro University, Sweden.

Delivery will be after summer holidays August 2015.
